Jo, you have had the amazing experience of having two dogs that need each other as much as they need their humans. The chances of them getting this type of life without having a structured adoption approach would be slim to none. Thank you for recognizing what The Animal Protectorates – Operation Adopt stands for and for opening your hearts and home to two very special canine kids.
Wonderful Animal Rescue group! Super local, and you can meet the animals any time they are open instead of having to apply sight unseen like so many places! The place is clean and nice, and the animals are well cared for! Plus you can tell …
Kelley thank you for recognizing the importance of having a physical location for people to meet animals for adoption. So many people want to adopt but can’t bring themselves to enter a shelter – it is just too emotionally upsetting. Operation Adopt is able to help match orphaned shelter animals with these people in a calm setting. We are proud of how clean we keep the facility – it keeps the animals healthy and lets people meet them in a pleasant environment.

We adopted the two most adorable rescues ever, Oliver and Suki. They were so well taken care of and nurses back to health before we brought them home. For sure we will go back to adopt another family friend
Lyn, it is rare that dogs who become buddies while at Operation Adopt get to stay together. You made that happen for Oliver and Suki. Thank you for recognizing the care that staff and volunteers give each animal, especially ones like Oliver who needed daily care to be ready for adoption. We are so glad we met such a special family and ever happier that two orphaned pups got a fairy tale ending.
TAPS changed our lives! My husband and I were looking to rescue a dog, but were overwhelmed with the idea of wandering into a shelter. Then we found TAPS. They rescue dogs, they make sure all the dogs and spayed/neutered, chipped, and loved…
Julia, you and your husband made our hearts dance when you came back and adopted little Leigh. Leigh was taken to the shelter with a litter of puppies and three other dogs. She was with us for nearly a year. We never thought she would get the happy ending of reuniting with one of her original family members in a home where they are treated like stars. Thank you for being amazingly special people with great big hearts.
I adopted my dog from OA and fell so in love with their mission that I decided to volunteer. My experience with OA has truly opened my eyes to all the good we can do to protect and care for our four legged friends.
Rebecca thank you for volunteering! Your devotion to orphaned animals through your special skills of organization and “getting it done” mentality have changed the lives of so many orphaned animals in Los Angeles. You are so valued and important to the mission of the nonprofit.

Had the absolute best experience here and couldn’t be happier. My partner and I initially came in to meet a dog we found on Petfinder; when we arrived, that dog was no longer available – however, as soon as another dog became available that…
Annie, thank you so much for taking time to recognize one of our very core values – matchmaking based on the people and the pets’ needs. Sometimes people want immediate gratification for themselves, but adopters like you realize what a commitment sharing your life with a pet is and put the welfare of the animal first. Thank you for being one of these special people and for recognizing Laurie – one of our most special volunteers.
An adoption center for cats & dogs. Extremely clean. Friendly staff.
Laurie, thank you for taking time to let us know how we are doing at Operation Adopt. Our staff is amazingly kind and does more than anyone could possibly imagine. Their whole hearts are into helping these orphaned animals find the best homes possible.
They are loving, caring dog rescuers who go out of their way to find the right home for their dogs. Inspiring.
Horace, thank you for taking time to leave a comment and mentioning that our staff and volunteers are loving and caring rescuers. You are right! So many people and so many hours are involved in getting just one animal out of the shelter and into the right home but unless you have experienced it yourself, its difficult to know what all is involved. We appreciate it so much when people, like you, take time to acknowledge how much we are devoted to each individual animal.

Pets are well taken care of and I believe they do all they can to find the right fit before the pets are adopted. Adoption fees are steep, but they do go all out to take care of the furry babies in their care so I do understand why it is so…
